Yesenia's Mexican and Seafood: Authentic Flavors in San Diego

So, so good! I got the carnitas plate and it was some of the best Mexican food I’ve had in a while. The salsa bar was fantastic and all of the salsas are made in-house!

I had the 5 mini taco plate because I thought I could try 5 different tacos, but you're restricted to 2 kinds (3 of one, 2 of another). It comes with a drink, but THAT is restricted to canned soda or fountain drink, so no Jarritos or Mundet if you wanted that. Anyway, the pollo asado mini taco was pretty good, but the carnitas tasted too "charred" for my taste. Service was nice.

Awesome Burritos! Satisfying size and Delicious. Favorites are the Carnitas, Veggie and the Grilled Fish Burrito. If you're a Burrito fan, you gotta give this place a try. Fantastic fresh salsa bar and seasoned chips too! Friendly and quick service. Thanks guys!

WOW. Hands down the best costumer service that you can get. Food is Amazing food + refreshing aguas frescas + cold beer + salsa bar + free chips. The best in Kearny Mesa.

First time here, what a pleasant surprise! I ordered the days special - carnitas. The portion was huge, enough for dinner later! Mildly seasoned to perfection, the beans were just the right consistency to be eaten with a fork. The rice was deliciously steamy with no clumps of undercooked pieces. The service was superb, my friend had a service animal so we sat at an outside table. There was no wait to order at our 11:30 am arrival. Our food was brought to our table within 5-10 minutes!! I will be returning to this restaurant, even if it’s out of the way!

This place was advertised to me by someone else as "hole in the way, good prices Mexican food with large portions". Yes. There's quite a number of Mexican food places on this street, including another in the same plaza and 2 across the street that I was choosing between. Note that this one has a shaded patio space, which was the tie breaker.

Rich aromas of spices, beef, and love uplift our senses while walking through the covered patio. Earth tones tie each feature TOGETHER, like roses, cacti, and love. I love you Grace Yi. Food at Yesenia's fills your mind and belly, with love. Tortillas are fresh, delicious, and soak up juices for more palette delight. My steak was perfect, and had me dancing in my head in excitement. The salad is great, refreshing, crisp, with moisture that cleanses the palette between beans and steak. I enjoyed everything, thank you. God Bless.

I checked this place out Friday because it's close to my office and I heard Rubio's nearby was closing. To fish tacos, rice and beans came with free chips. Way too much food - 1/2 of that would be fine for lunch at a good price. What I like is the super friendly service, and the counter with all types of hot sauce. Like another reviewer mentioned, the atmosphere is cool. It feels like a tropical setting and not the repurposed office building we typically see for taco shops. My food came quickly and they brought it out to the table. I'll be sure to check this place out again.
